Oh this is a tough one. But i'll quickly point out that i DON'T go to a gym and probably never will for the rest of my life so this isn't something i'll have to worry abt.

Waiting Patiently In Line

Please type a brief account of yourself and your reasons for wanting to read Law at NUS.

Everyone takes away important life lessons from their parents. Being the only child in a comfortable middle-income family, it would have been exceedingly easy for my parents to give in to my every whim and spoil me rotten. Thankfully, they didn't; my parents held on to the philosophy that I had to work hard to get what I wanted. This is the philosophy that has driven me in my twenty year journey to the NUS Faculty of Law shortlist.

This philosophy also led me to believe that genius counts for less than hard work, and it challenged me to continually strive for the best in both my academic and non-academic quests. Admittedly, hard work does not always get the expected result. When I found out that I could not qualify for the Faculty of Law shortlist last year, it might have been easier for me to drop the idea and simply take another course. But if I truly wanted to be the best I could be, then I had to stick to my guns and fight for a place in NUS law school.

It occurred to me in junior college that if I could stand up and fight for my beliefs, then I most certainly could do it for someone else. The law, to me, is about fighting against the injustices in the world, about righting the indignities suffered by people and about preventing further wrongs from being committed. The law is not a textbook of rules to be memorized; it is a vehicle of social change and an instrument for equality. The beauty of law is that it has a place in almost every aspect of our lives, and is a subject that will constantly engage me. I want my life to make a difference and the law is a discipline that can help me make my mark on the world. As cheesy as it might sound, I would find it so meaningful to be able to use my knowledge to fight for others; this has been and will continue to be my motivation in pursuing a law degree in NUS Faculty of Law.

Also, if I wanted to develop myself intellectually, I hope to do so in the best possible environment. NUS Faculty of Law promises an environment where I would be surrounded by the most capable peers and the most distinguished teachers. I want to challenge myself to learn as much as I can, and an NUS law education is the best possible way for me to do so. The quality of an NUS law education is one of the important factors for my choice of school, because I know that if I graduate, the degree will not just be a piece of paper. I would truly have learnt and grown as a person, and would be fully equipped to achieve my ambitions.

I submit my application to NUS admissions on the 21st of February, as a local transfer student. Until now, the 10th of May, you STILL cannot give me an answer?? My application is STILL processing?

What kind of inefficient system are you guys managing there at the admissions department?

Tipping Point

You can have all the money in the world, but you can never buy class.

Approximately two weeks ago, my group of five members put up a performance for our theatre studies module. We rented costumes, which were not worn by every single member, but it was agreed that this was a group cost and we would split it equally. So that came up to about 30bux per person. The sad thing is that i was the one who paid and people were supposed to pay me back.

However, this sleeping member in our group who consistently missed meetings and left practices early has yet to pay me back. What kind of character do you have if you can shirk your academic responsibilities to your group mates AND try to get out of paying. The strangeness about this situation is not that you cannot afford to pay (you're the one who bragged at rehearsal about how much your ed hardy jacket cost and how your daddy cant drive people around because he owns a two-seater convertible); YOU JUST DONT WANT TO.

It is scum like this that make me wonder: Why have people taken issue with my swearing when bigger, badder wolves exist out there in the world? I could call this spoilt-rotten "princess" many, many names that you will cringe to hear, but that doesn't detract from the fact that she's still scum yes? Look at the bigger picture people. When i say "fuck", i find that i hurt fewer people than when this scum breathes does what she does.

Anyway, i'm determined to get my money back. I'm no helpless victim; just because youve hung up on me twice and ignored all my msges doesn't mean im all outta ways to annoy the shit outta you.

I like Star Trek a lot :) it's clever, it's got action and it's inspired me to check out the original series. Plus there is Zachary Quinto as Spock, who incidentally is a major plot focus. Spock is a good character to play, i can see why ZQ lobbied so hard to get this role. Internal conflict plus subdued emotions are not the easiest things in the book to play.

ZachQuinto is seriously the best looking person to hit American television. I cannot even begin to describe to you how crazy i feel when i look at him. And glad to know my faith in his acting skills is not misplaced :) I will treasure every single moment of Spock on the theatre screen at 1.50pm 7th May 09.

I seem to be going through spurts of spamming Matsuken and then moving on to ZachQuinto. I predict that the current ZQ obsession will last until June (when i get my hands on the matsuken photobook heeee). But they will remain my two leading men. Like seriously, if i was forced to make a choice, id never be able to choose :(

Audition on Saturday. Wish me luck!! I'm going to play a spurned lover. Now now, doesn't that just sound familiar?

That Deformed Monstrosity

I've been toying with the idea for a number of months now. And after going through some very serious consideration, id decided that i wanted to go blonde after the exams.

Then i go and find out that a particular classless blogger has done the very same thing. Which leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

Oh well. Either i go veryveryveryvery light plat blonde or i play around with red&pink. We'll see.
